THE CONSULTATION

The first part of the process is a consultation. This is normally done as part of your initial treatment, but can be done separately if you prefer. Our team will talk with you in great detail about the look you are trying to achieve and what we might recommend to you. This is very much a two-way conversation. We listen, we respond, we advise. Once we have an idea of the look you are aiming for, we draw the line on scalp with a makeup pencil. This can be drawn on and adjusted many times if necessary! We will never begin the tattoo process until you are completely happy with what it is going to look like.

THE TREATMENT

The process of scalp micropigmentation is a non-surgical procedure, and our specialist works through the scalp by repeatedly parting the hair section by section, applying pigment to the scalp in the usual way. Using artistic techniques, our specialist adds volume and dimension to the hair, gradually building density to your hair line to achieve the best possible result and most natural look, paying special attention to any problem areas such as scars or patches of hair loss. The end result is effectively a shaded scalp – i.e, it becomes much harder to see the difference in color between the hair and the scalp, therefore making the hair appear much thicker.

THE RETOUCH

A second appointment is needed 2 months after your first treatment. This is usually a 30-60 minute appointment to add more pigment to the scalp area. This is because as the area is healing, some parts may not ‘hold’ as well as others and you may have a few patches that need more color. This is completely normal and everyone heals differently. Whatever the case, we advise you always come back to our Spa for your retouch.

SMP or Scalp Micropigmentation treatment is a permanent cosmetic treatment. It involves administering natural pigmentation into the hair follicles. Unlike traditional tattoos, Micropigmentation treatment utilizes a significantly thinner needle to insert pigment into the approximately 100,000 hair follicles. This enables the production of scalp tattoos more detailed than traditional tattoos.

This treatment is recommended for people with a receding hairline, or if are starting or have completely gone blad. The treatment’s result will showcase will add the appearance of tiny hair follicles that will bring back your hair density and will seamlessly become part of your look.

What are the expected results?

What is the procedure?

For Scalp Micropigmentation treatment, our specialist will use state-of-the-art micro-needles and cosmetic pigments to provide you with the aesthetic of your choice. The scalp tattoo takes around about 9-12 hours to complete demanding the complexity of the targeted area. In addition, follow-up treatment will be required around 3-6 years to touch upon the scalp tattoo. On the other hand, the patient will require the follow-up treatment sooner if the patient is underneath direct sunlight for long hours which will result in tattoo fading.

How long with it take for Recovery?

The recovery period for the Micropigmentation treatment will take about one week to resolve. During the recovery period, it is advised for the patient not to scratch or pick at the scabs developing in the treated area. In addition, do not expose your treated area to too long hours of direct sunlight, as this could result in fading of scalp tattoo leading to earlier follow-up treatment.
