Xeomin (incobotulinumtoxinA) is a prescription medicine injected into muscles that are intended to temporarily reduce the look of moderate to severe frown lines between the brows (glabellar lines) in adults.” Botulinum toxin type A, a protein isolated from the bacteria Clostridium botulinum, is present in Xeomin.”
Xeomin acts by immobilizing the muscle at treated sites. It does this by inhibiting the contraction of the targeted muscles. Only those muscles producing these undesirable lines are treated.
The two products are very similar. They take the same time to take effect and last about as long. Xeomin is a purified version of Botulinum toxin with less risk of developing antibodies over time. The main difference between Xeomin and Botox is that Xeomin contains a “naked” form of botulinum toxin. Unlike Botox, which contains accessory proteins, Xeomin is designed to deliver the toxin without any protein additives.

A small quantity of solution is injected directly into the muscles that are the cause of the prominent furrowing or expression lines. Typically, several injections are given with each treatment, and one treatment is usually effective for 3-6 months. The treatment takes a few minutes and the medication takes effect in three to four days. Patients return to work or other activities immediately after treatment.
Each patient metabolizes Xeomin/Botox at different rates so the treatment may last longer than others, or not as long.
Yes. Don’t touch the area for about an hour, then refrain from rubbing down on the area until you see the effect, you may wash your face gently and apply makeup that evening.
